How do I become a Freemason? |
Masonry is a life long journey, one that starts the instant that you decide that you would like to become a member. There are some basic prerequisites needed in order to join and these are noted on the petition itself. Before starting your journey you should know that our primary goal as a fraternity is simple: “We make good men better”. Men, aged 18 and older, who desire to join our fraternity, should first complete the petition and then submit it to the Secretary, prior to the next scheduled stated meeting.
The petition process The petition process is simple. But in the event that you have questions or require assistance completing the petition, please e-mail the lodge using the form on the contact page linked at the bottom of this article.
Once you have completed the petition in its entirety it will be read aloud to our Lodge members. At this time the Lodge will assign a team of 3 members to seek out and learn about yourself and family as well as your personal and professional history. Voting and Membership This team will make a recommendation about your membership to our Lodge and after careful consideration of both your moral character and your personal reputation within the community, the Lodge will vote to either accept or reject your petition. A few days after the meeting you will receive a letter via US mail and a phone call from the Jr. Warden (or another member of our officer team) notifying you of the result. If you do not have the means to download and print a petition please use the contact form and let us know. We will work to get a petition in your hands. Otherwise: Download a Petition Here. You may submit your petition electronically via e-mail but we will still need the original petition for our records. We are excited that you have chosen to petition our lodge and while no guarantee can be made regarding the acceptance of any member who desires to join the Lodge it should be made known that without new interest and new petitions by candidates such as yourself, our fraternity would not exist. With these things in mind please do not allow any difficulty in the petitioning process discourage you from starting your Masonic journey. If you have a question or need any assistance just ask! |
